Into this is thrown medical experimentee Kama Tanestra, a brain-damaged and officially dead failed suicide. When she is brought by Dr. Sanger’s machine into the mysterious new territories of the mind, she becomes able to goad and lead the scientist through a hero's journey to confront an accident at the dawn of human consciousness in order to save his entire species.
